The First Gen Hunter Podcast

Hunter is back for another episode to talk about his incredible year of filling tags all over the west. From Coloumbia blacktail deer in Oregon, to a one way flight 70 miles into the Alaskan wilderness, back to the southwest for a trophy bull elk in New Mexico. This interview with Hunter is pumped full of great hunting adventures and an update on his show The Hunters Quest.

Well it's a wrap! Aside from some last minute rabbit and squirrel hunting, the 2023 hunting season is officially done, and it was a dandy. In this episode I highlight some of my favorite moments from the year. Topics include Turkey hunting, dove hunting, whitetail and mule deer hunting and pheasant hunting. Of course I talk about hunting with some awesome people as well.

I can't believe it has taken this many episodes before we finally covered hog hunting, but here we are, and it's a great one with Native Texan George Blitch to talk about the other white meat found throughout the southern end of our country. We also talk about melanistic deer and George's unique career path that has made him an annual finalist for the title of "Most Interesting Man In The World." Enjoy.

One of the most controversial topics within hunting is baiting. Is it ethical to bait in game? Is it shooting fish in a barrel? Or is it the only way to hunt in some areas? George Blitch a native Texan joins me to share his experiences.

Getting started as a first gen hunter is a real challenge, but what about also becoming a first gen hunting land owner? Mo Reyes was brave enough to take on both of these challengers and he's crushing it! Here's his story.

Hunting has been under attack for a long time. Sometimes those attacks seem heavier than others, and right now is one of those times. Alex and I discuss a popular article that came out recently which blames hunting for harming biodiversity.

It's a big milestone episode! Caleb has been dreaming up an interview to celebrate this occasion for over a year. Caleb and Alex interview me on my earliest days of hunting as well as the creation of First Gen Hunter. Thanks for being along on the ride for 200 episodes- You're the best part of this show!

Ryan, or as his friends know him "Moose" is as hardcore of a deer hunter as they come. He has made his name hunting whitetails in the mountains of PA. Ryan puts a tremendous effort into scouting public hunting areas so when he has the time off from work during the rut he goes for broke on tagging a mature mountain buck. Ryan is also a member of the Whitetail Addictions team who has been producing top end hunting content for years.
I thoroughly enjoyed talking with Ryan who wasn't afraid to share his well thought out opinions on some different key topics that the hunting community is currently trying to weigh out. Topics include trail camera bans, crossbows, and fitness.
