The First Gen Hunter Podcast

Travis Adair has hunted bears all over North America. He is a bear hunter through and through. He joined me on this episode to tell some incredible stories about past hunts, but also some great pieces of advice that can help all bear hunters find more success.

Of all of the most petty lawsuits to exist in the era of frivolous lawsuits is the most recent corner crossing lawsuit filed by a landowner in WY against a group of hunters from MO. Thankfully the courts have ruled in favor of the hunters from MO, but there is still more drama to unfold. Jordan Sillars of MeatEater joined me and Alex to explain the situation and what the ruling may mean for hunters in the future.

He's back! One of the best guests we've had on First Gen Hunter through the years, Brad Willey joins me to talk about his New England Turkey Season and last year's Deer Season. Brad also talks about his new role at Big Woods Bucks. As always this interview is very entertaining and will inspire you to embrace suffering and earn your next buck the hard way.

In this episode I am joined by the host of the Hunt Suburbia podcast and founder of Huntstock, Patrick Guyette. Pat and I discuss his recent interview with Ryan Gilman (Rhode Island Whitetails) about a crazy, and terrifying encounter in the woods of Maine, and then we discuss the incredible hunting event known as Huntstock.

Ben of SoDak Horizon is devoted to archery. He's the kind of guy who shoots everyday and when it comes to hunting he is always dialed and ready to hit his mark. I wish I had the same level of discipline, but instead I'll just have to settle on talking with Ben about it. We also discussed his growth on social media and taking a chance on working within the hunting industry.

Remember when I first talked to Charles on the podcast? It was probably a year and a half ago when that conversation happened. Have you wondered how effective HOWL's approach is all of this time later? Yeah, me too. So I went back to the source and things are still clicking just as well as I had hoped.

This one is as good as it sounds! Eric is living the dream we all have. He's hunting and fishing for most species, on most days in Alaska. In this episode Eric tells the story of his most recent successful bear hunt, how he got into hunting upland birds in Alaska, and guiding as a career.

Hunting is our favorite, but when the seasons give way to summer, fishing is as close as you can get to hunting. In this episode Caleb, Jake (sort of), and I tell you our 3 days we have to fish each summer.

You guys know how my faith in trail cams is less than great. I have had some good experiences, but also plenty bad ones. So I brought in Jake Hofer of Exodus Trail Cameras to convince me on why I shouldn't give up on using them. I'm now once again on board with running trail cams, and I think you will be too.
